Blog Title Explanation: I’ve always been teased for the frequency of sunburning. Yes, I know I’m Asian and supposedly Asians aren’t really suppose to sunburn (from what people tell me). But I sunburn…all the time…with sunscreen on. My UCSD tennis teammates teased me a plenty for sunburning my eyelids (I looked like I had bright pink messy eye shadow on for days), my part (the peeling looked like a medical case of dandruff), and the space on my legs between an ankle sock and a crew sock. It’s a kind of exposure of myself that I’ve learned to deal with accept and love, much like blogging – self exposure allows me to process, connect and grow. Wheatgrass is the latest addition to my diet and I blend it with my special juices that include kale, flax seed, carrots, berries, non-fat plain yogurt, and OJ. If you’ve seen wheatgrass (or tasted it), it’s strong, vibrant, and it’s roots are incredibly long, deep and intertwining. Each strand exists on its own but is securly connected with those around, not by anything visible on the surface, but underground in its system of finding water and sustenance. A nice picture of life and our journey here as Jesus followers.

i never knew eyelids could sunburn…and as pale as i am i’ve never thought or had to put sunscreen on them. and i’ve never really met an asian that truly sunburns unless they’re in the searing sun for days. what a … talent…? you’re unique in many ways and i miss your friendship.
